John Hopkins was born and grew up in Toronto, Ontario prior to moving to Regina in 1981. Over the years John has held a range of occupations including, running his own business, being the Executive Director of Regina’s Market Square and is currently employed as the Chief Executive Officer of the Regina & District Chamber of Commerce. John attended the University of Regina where he found one of the true passions of his life, writing.

John has been a Director on the Canadian Forces Liaison Council in Saskatchewan, Chaired the Board of the Regina Trades & Skills Centre for many years, sits on the Cowessess Ventures Board, the Reconciliation Regina Board and the Saskatchewan Assessment Management Agency’s Commercial Advisory Committee. 

He is the father of 6 children and is passionate about the virtues of living in Saskatchewan, has a keen interest in politics, is a strong supporter of the free market system and strongly believes that very small groups of people can effect great change. One of John’s other great passions is music. He is the rhythm guitar player for The Garage Band.
